When the current owners bought the farm in 1992 it was a dairy farm. The farm was expanded right away and for most of the time there were about 30 milking cows and a 140.000 liter production per year.
For a few years there was also a domestic animal park at Thorisstadir with most of the domestic Icelandic animals.
In the start of the year 2004 the owners decided to stop the dairy production after more than 20 years as dairy farmers. At the same time it was decided to build á hotel for 50 guests in serval steps over the next years by converting the cowshed and the barn.
