There are marked walking routes all the way down to the sea and up in the mountain. Next to the hotel is a small recriational area surrounded with natural forest where people can barbecue and eat outside. There is a wide variety of birds species around the hotel and some good locations for bird watching.
You don´t have to travel far to get to all sort of entertainment i.e. in Akureyri (15 km) you can find horse-rentals, golf-courses, many kind of museums, swimming pools and a lot of good reastaurants. Hotel Natur is located in the central of North-Iceland and it is therefore very convenient to take day-trips from there to Húsavík, for whale-watching, nature bath in Mývatn, Dimmuborgir, Krafla, Siglufjordur and Skagafjordur for example.
